This year, Ligali’s African Remembrance Day event returns to our traditional way of gathering by the water and under the stars. We are calling for a small, number of people (children welcome) to come and take part in an intimate gathering beneath the old tree near Hollow Ponds Lake in Epping Forest.
There will be no tickets or planned speeches, if it rains then we will still be there just like our committed Ancestors when gathered making plans for our self-determination.
So if your spirit seeks a moment of freedom in the concrete jungle then wrap warm and come join us for one evening, as we sit in a circle and talk, sing, dance, drum, chant, laugh, cry and recite words of freedom in honour of those that we lost to Maafa by remembering their struggles and exploring our shared purpose.

Participation: To help create this space of remembrance and healing all we ask is that you bring a positive vibe and something to share. This can be food, fruit or drink, as well as a short story, a poem, a song, a drum, a drawing, an idea, a vision or an offering to our Ancestors.
Dress code suggestion: Traditional, white, or in the colours of your Orisha.
