Grenfell MediaWatch report #1

Following the Grenfell Tower Massacre on 14 June 2017, a small group of activists, volunteers and publish their first MediaWatch report.

Greetings, exactly two weeks ago many of us woke up to the tragic news of the massacre that happened at Grenfell Tower in one of the UK’s richest borough - The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Today on the anniversary of that crime we publish our first MediaWatch report. It was compiled over seven intense days by a small team of volunteers determined to secure justice and healing for the victims, survivors, family and friends and all those still experiencing trauma over what occurred. We have worked hard to ensure it informs we the people so that we can all become the experts, setting the terms and focus of the investigations/inquiry - not some retired judge or appointed police officer. We must never again allow the government to enable the media and politicians to conveniently forget ‘the lessons learned’ like they did after the Lakanal fire in 2009.
